President attends the Swearing-in Ceremony of the Prime Minister of India for the Second Term

AT THE invitation of His Excellency Shri Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of the Republic of India, U Win Myint, President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar,
paid a visit to India from 30 to 31 May 2019 to attend the Swearing-in Ceremony of the Prime Minister of India for the second term.
The Myanmar delegation led by the President arrived at the Palam Airport in New Delhi in the morning of 30 May 2019. In the afternoon, President U Win Myint met
with Myanmar Ambassador U Moe Kyaw Aung, staff and family members of the Myanmar Embassy and the Myanmar Military Attaché Office at the Myanmar Ambassador’s Residence in New Delhi and gave guidance to them. Afterwards, the President visited the National Museum and the India Gate.
In the evening, the President attended the Swearing-in Ceremony of the Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi for the second term which was held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan (the President’s House) in New Delhi. The Prime Minister and the members of the Council of Ministers of his Government swore in at the
Ceremony administered by the President of India. After the Ceremony, President U Win Myint cordially greeted and congratulated the Indian Prime Minister for his landslide victory in the elections and offered best wishes for his continued success and for further consolidating friendly relations between Myanmar and India during his second term. After the Ceremony, the President attended the State Banquet hosted by H.E. Shri Ram Nath Kovind, President of India. During the course of
the Banquet, the President had the opportunity of cordial talks with the Indian President and Vice President H.E. Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu on promoting bilateral ties.
