ASEAN-Myanmar SOM Leader, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Myanmar of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, attended the 22nd ASEAN-Russia Senior Officials’ Meeting held on 20-21 April 2026 in Karzan, Russia and co-chaired the Meeting together with Mr. Andrey Rudenko, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
Senior Officials and Representatives from the ASEAN Member States, and the Deputy-Secretary General of ASEAN for ASEAN Political-Security Community and their respective delegations were also in attendance.
The Meeting discussed and exchanged views on the developments in ASEAN and Russia, the progress of the implementation of the ASEAN-Russia Comprehensive Plan of Action (2021-2025), and the development of the ASEAN-Russia Comprehensive Plan of Action (2026-2030), as well as convening of the ASEAN-Russia Commemorative Summit on the Occasion of the 35th Anniversary of ASEAN-Russia Relations in 2026, and future direction of ASEAN-Russia Cooperation.
