
Minister of External Affairs of India, Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar paid a courtesy call on the president of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, U Min Aung Hlaing, currently in New Delhi, India, on an official visit on 30 May 2026.
At the meeting, they cordially exchanged views on the progress of friendly ties and cooperation between Myanmar and India, and the further promotion of friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries.
They also discussed holding the multiparty democratic general election in Myanmar, development projects, trade, defence, security, development, and border peace and stability measures.
Furthermore, they emphasized the promotion of cooperation in multi-sectors between the two countries.
Also present at the meeting were Union Ministers U Khin Maung Yi and U Tin Maung Swe, officials, and the Myanmar Ambassador to India. The Indian Minister of External Affairs was accompanied by the ambassador of India to Myanmar, Shri Abhay Thakur, and officials.
