Myanmar delegation led by U Hau Khan Sum, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, attended the ASEAN Senior Officials’ Meeting (SOM) and Related Meetings held at the Philippines International Convention Centre in Manila, the Philippines from 7 to 9 June 2026. The meetings were chaired by the Philippines in its capacity as the Chair of ASEAN, and attended by ASEAN Senior Officials and the Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN.
These meetings were held in preparation for the upcoming ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting and related meetings. The Senior Officials reviewed ongoing cooperation and exchanged views on future collaborative efforts.
During the discussions, the head of Myanmar delegation reviewed matters being implemented across the respective cooperative frameworks and suggested priority areas for future cooperation. He further updated the meetings on the developments in Myanmar.
