
Myanmar delegation led by U Hau Khan Sum, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar attended the ASEAN-Russia Commemorative Summit to mark the 35th Anniversary of ASEAN-Russia Relations which was held on 16-18 June 2026 in Kazan, Russia.
The Commemorative Summit, co-chaired by H.E. Mr. Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation and H.E. Mr. Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., President of the Republic of the Philippines, was attended by the Leaders, Foreign Ministers and the Senior Officials as well as the Secretary General of ASEAN.
During the Commemorative Summit, the Leaders reviewed and exchanged views on the ASEAN-Russia Partnership and its future direction as well as regional and international issues. The Leaders also adopted four outcome documents namely Kazan Declaration, Joint Statement of ASEAN and the Russian Federation on Cultural Cooperation, Joint Statement of ASEAN and the Russian Federation on Energy Cooperation, and Comprehensive Plan of Action to Implement ASEAN-Russian Federation Strategic Partnership (2026-2030) at the Commemorative Summit followed by a Working Lunch.
Prior to the Commemorative Summit, Myanmar delegation led by the Permanent Secretary attended the Co-Chairs’ Meeting on 16 June and the ASEAN-Russia Preparatory Senior Officials’ Meeting, on 17 June in Kazan, Russia.
