The KIA and PDF combined terrorist groups carried out a deliberate attack using FPV Suicide Drones on an MNA civilian passenger aircraft, with passengers on board travelling from Mandalay to Myitkyina, at Myitkyina Airport on 20-2-2026 at around 8:12 PM. Security forces swiftly evacuated passengers and crew members to safe locations.
Due to the malicious attack targeting innocent civilians, passengers and crew members experienced serious psychological distress and the aircraft sustained damage to its nose section, the mid-fuselage, and the tail.
The intentional targeting and attack on a non-military civilian airline and innocent passengers constitutes the commission of a war crime under the Geneva Conventions and international law. The public has strongly condemned these terrorist acts with revulsion.
Effective response measures will be undertaken to protect innocent civilians and national security.
