Myanmar High-Level Delegation Led by President U Min Aung Hlaing Pays Homage to Mahabodhi Pagoda in Bodh Gaya Cultural Zone, India

The Myanmar high-level delegation led by U Min Aung Hlaing, President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, paid homage to the Mahabodhi Pagoda located in the Bodh Gaya cultural zone of India. The president and party arrived at the Mahabodhi Mahavihara Temple, where they paid homage to the Buddha image enshrined inside the Mahabodhi Pagoda. They offered an emerald alms bowl, water, oil lamps, and flowers to the Buddha image. On behalf of the president, a senior monk offered a robe to the Buddha image. Next, they paid obeisance to the Buddha image on the upper terrace of the Mahabodhi Pagoda, offering flowers, water, and oil lamps. They then circumambulated the Mahabodhi Pagoda clockwise and made cash donations dedicated to the Maravijaya Buddha Image. Afterward, the president presented collective cash donations for the all-round renovation of the Mahabodhi Pagoda to the Presiding Sayadaw of the Mahabodhi Monastery. The Presiding Sayadaw then returned Dhamma gifts to the president. Following this, the president signed the visitors’ book of the Mahabodhi Pagoda.
