The Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U Than Swe received H.E. Mr. Bounphieng CHANTHAVONG, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar at 1330 hrs on 20 December 2024 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw.
During the courtesy call, the Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. They engaged in a cordial and constructive exchange of views on strengthening the traditional bonds of friendship between the two counties through the existing bilateral mechanisms, focusing on various sectors of mutual interest including trade, connectivity and energy sector as well as advancing cooperation on regional and international spheres.
